Most japanese people don’t believe Religion?
Yes, this is true.
According to the Daily Yomiuri (newspaper), 72% of japanese people don’t believe any religion.

but most japanese celebrate Christmas and Obon, and may have a wedding at a Christian church and have a funeral at a Buddhist temple.
People outside japan feel weird of japanese religious sense, but japanese don’t.

You’ll have a quite different experience of travel toward north or south in Japan. The northernmost of 47 prefectural-level subdivisions of japan is “Hokkaido”. Hokkaido is likely to Alaska in America. There are Hokkaido photos.

if you travel toward south in Japan, you can arrive to “Okinawa”. Okinawa is one of Japan’s southern prefectures. You can image that Okinawa is like Hawaii. There are Okinawa photos.
